Lift the structure using Load Bearing Helical Piers

Lift a Building, EASY

Chance HELICAL PIERS are installed using portable hydraulic equipment to a specific torque value.  This torque value equates to a specific bearing capacity.  This is proven with thousands of tests nationally.  Chance Certified Installers place a safety factor of a minimum of 2 to1 on every pier that is installed.  This ensures no problems in the future.  This is one of the problems with piers that are installed by using the weight of the home to push the pier down.  There is no safety factors built into this type of system.

Knowing the capacity of the pier, the capacity of the structure and building in a safety factor, it is easy to place hydraulic jacks on top of the piers and lift the structure.

Stairstep cracks in brick, block, masonry or concrete can mean foundation settling

Every pier which McCloy Construction installs, we load test the piers by placing hydraulic jacks on top of the pier to ensure there are no problems an to lift the structure off the poor soil.  Once there is a gap between the soil and the concrete footer, it is known that 100% of the weight of the structure is held by the piers.  This allows the inadequate soil under the structure to settle, creep downhill, or shrink during dry months, without effecting the foundation.  This picture shows the gap between the footer and soil.

The chance Helical Pier is far superior to other methods of structure raising

McCloy Construction has lifted corners of structures, as well as entire front or back halves.  WE have lifted and entire building which was built on fill.  57 piers were placed around a 40' X80' building.  On top of these piers we placed hydraulic jacks and lift the building enough to have a local engineer place his hand under the footer.

A newly constructed home was built with the front right corner on fill.  Before the contractor completed the home, the corner was settling and cracking.  We lifted this portion of the home over 4 inches to place the foundation back to its original position.
